I really really try not to go crazy getting new clothes for Luna, but these cute new styles, shops and designs keep popping up in my Instagram and at some point (usually late at night as I pretend to stay up and write) I lose all sense of control and mindlessly order a graphic tee/moccasins/head-wrap/up-cycled romper and pretend to be surprised when it arrives in the mail a week later. I’m not even sorry. One of my fav new shops that I stalk, always hoping for coupon codes and special offers, is Rags to Raches. Their rompers are totally on fleek. Just take a look.
Who doesn’t love a kid in a romper?
You just can’t handle this much cuteness.
Rags to Raches is an online shop that sells apparel and accessories for men, women and children, but they specialize in the coolest rompers you ever did see. The designs are unique, simple and gender neutral. You won’t see any other romper like them. The fabrics are soft and beautiful and always a great color. It’s great quality, durable, stretchy and there aren’t any itchy tags that you’ll end up ripping out.
When my romper arrived I was a little confused by the fact that there were no snaps or fasteners of any sort at the crotch and inner seam of the romper. I was worried that it would be a struggle to get it on and off Luna, especially when it came time to changing her diaper. So, when diaper duty time rolled around I held my breath as I laid Luna down and slowly began pulling the romper over her shoulders. I expected it to stretch out and be an extra challenge added to our process. Shockingly, it was not at all difficult. In fact, it was super easy, maybe easier than pants or anything with snaps. It very quickly slipped down to her ankles and back up when I was done.
We love the Rags To Raches romper and it’s been a hit everywhere we go too. I’m itching for more rompers! If you’ve got, or know, a little one you must check out Rags to Raches online store and don’t forget to follow them on Instagram for all the latest designs, discount codes and giveaway!
Before our recent trip to Disney I spent days..weeks..okay, months scouring Pinterest, Etsy and Instagram, hunting for the cutest Disney outfits for Luna. After all, it was her first trip, and I do love buying her adorable Disney paraphernalia. While looking for tees, I came across a shop called The Blue Envelope and fell in love with their “Cinderella” tee. Lucky for me (and you!) The lady behind the shop, Amanda, and I worked together to bring you a review and a discount code! Woohoo!
I loved the shirt too much to wait until Disney to put it on Luna. We had some fun at home putting together outfits with the shirt before landing on the perfect one for Disney.
The t-shirt is super soft, high-quality and adorable. I’ve washed it a few times now, and it has kept its shape and color. Considering, I suck at separating the wash, that’s a very good sign that it’s held up.
Then, Luna finally got to wear the top at Disney! It was a HUGE hit. I paired it with her Kickin Legs custom Mickey Mouse leggings, her Nike’s and her H&M hat. She strutted her stuff all over Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and got many compliments.
So cute and cozy that she fell fast asleep on the Kilimanjaro Safari…
Disney was a blast, and I’m so glad I found some great shops to stock up on Disney attire. AND, great news for you… Amanda from The Blue Envelope is offering each and everyone of you a 20% discount on your order! Just use the code DISNEY when you checkout. Shop here. Sweet!
Happy Sunday! Tennessee was chilly and rainy today, but we did spend the two hours that were free of rain to go to a new-ish park and walk, walk, walk. Everyone we know seems to have a FitBit now, so we are desperate to meet our goals and kick each other’s butts. It’s becoming a real problem, but I guess it’s a healthy problem, right? Anyways, I’m finally in bed and ready to draw a random winner of the oh-so cute Scabib!
This winner holds a special place in my heart. I worked with this beautiful woman when we were just pimply teenagers at a local grocery store in our small town. We’ve since reconnected through Facebook and had our babies around the same time. Her baby is a miracle. I know all babies are miracles, but this particular baby had a very difficult entrance to the world and it is nothing short of a miracle that she is here today. You can read all about their brave story here.
Kudos to anyone who manages to run a blog from their phone (I’m looking at you
Stacey, from Mom Upcycles). My laptop bit the dust a couple of weeks ago, and while I did got a new one for my Birthday (yay!), I have yet to transfer anything or put on any programs I use…or done anything actually. I got the new computer just hours before driving to Texas and with no WiFi its basically impossible to work on it. Not to mention, I’ve been enjoying my time away from the computer. However, I am looking forward to getting back and getting all set up again.
I came across Aylinka Shop on Etsy several months ago while searching for a dress for Luna to wear to our friend’s wedding. The dresses from Aylinka are gorgeous, so sweet and perfect for a special occasion. Yuliya, the creator, was kind enough to send me to of her pieces for review and I was blown away when they arrived.
The craftsmanship on these clothes is flawless. I have no idea how to crochet so I am super impressed by what Yuliya has done. Both the dress and the skirt I received not only look like incredibly expensive designer clothes, but they feel like it too. They are soft and heavy with high-end material. I could not wait to dress Luna in her new duds.
I love pairing the girly frilly skirt with basic tanks and tees. It’s fun to dress up and down together. Plus, it’s just fun to dress Luna up while she still lets me.
The beige dress and headband are heavenly. I cannot tell you how many compliments we received on this outfit. Who wouldn’t want to love on this adorable little angel baby?
I highly recommend the clothing from Aylinka. It’s perfect for weddings, birthdays, parties, holidays…or a day you just want to dress up. AANNNDDDDDD, if you go there now and you this discount code special for my readers: AYLINSHOP10 you will get 10% off!! Woohoo!
When you visit her shop, please be sure and let her know I sent you! Can’t wait to see what you find.
A few weeks ago I was feeling especially crafty and decided I wanted to be one of those special Pinterest moms who make everything from scratch. Of course, the first step was to search Pinterest for some not too tricky tutorials. I’ve been wanting the trendy baby barefoot sandals for Luna and found some tutorials that looked crazy easy.
I did a few different techniques before finding the one that worked best for me. Once I made the first pair and had all my materials ready it was so easy Luna could have made them herself…you know, if she had any sort of small motor skills.
Here’s what I did…
Step 1 1/2: (because I forgot this one) glue the elastic you cut together in the figure eight shape you created.
I, of course, made a headband to match. It was seriously ridiculously easy. I’m assuming I saved money by making my own, but I didn’t pay any attention to how I much I spent on materials so I can’t know for sure.
It’s summer time!!! Summer is my favorite season. I love hot weather, the beach, swimming, snocones, tans, bare-feet, tank-tops, shorts and the natural blonde streaks that appear in my hair. If it were up to me I’d live on a beach somewhere near the equator and have summer year round. Summer is also the season when we do the most traveling, hiking, rock-climbing, kayaking, swimming and whatever other crazy adventures we can plan. This summer is extra special because it’s Luna’s first summer, which means lots of other firsts too….like her first swim.
Last weekend we took Luna to the city pool with her Grandparents and you know I had the perfect pool outfit and accessories for the occasion.
Luna loves bath time, but I didn’t know if a pool would bring the same joy. After all, her bath is warm and in a sink with only her Dad and I there. The city pool is slightly different. She didn’t look exactly thrilled in the big cold pool with a hundred other people around her, but she didn’t get upset either. I think it was a success.
After a short swim, lunch and a nap time, the baby pool was empty and calling our names. The life guard was nice enough to let us drag the large umbrella that was meant to cover him into the shallow pool to keep us shaded. Luna is too young for sunscreen so I didn’t want her in the sun for very long. The water in the baby pool was warm and the big umbrella kept us protected from the sun. It was perfect.
Luna definitely enjoyed her time in the private baby pool. Can’t wait to take her swimming again!
I’m a girly Mom of a girl which means I want lots of girly things for her. Especially if she’s anything like I was from age five to fourteen, she will hate all things girly. I’ve got to enjoy it while I still have control over her wardrobe. The only thing is that it’s kind of stupid to spend a lot of money on baby clothes and accessories. They grow so fast and they only wear the cute accessories for 15 minutes at a time. As much as I love finding matching bows, socks and headbands it’s a little hard to make myself cough up the money when she hardly wears it long enough to get it on Instagram. This is why I found a solution to this very silly problem.
Pinterest is full of easy tutorials for all things baby. Turns out it is crazy easy to make headbands, bows and barefoot sandals. I looked up a few of the easiest ones, ran to Joann’s, stalked up on crafty things and spent Saturday night being thrifty and crafty. It took me a about an hour, maybe two, to make 4 headbands and 2 pairs of barefoot sandals. SO easy.
You can use any type of fabric flower. I grabbed lots of chiffon flowers and then some pretty fabric ones they had in the scrapbooking section.
Okay, so technically the first step is to measure the elastic around your baby’s head.
The chiffon flowers have a lot of extra material on the back you can trim off. For this headband I used one flower from each color.
Obviously, I can’t cut perfect circles, but whatever.
Tada! I’ll post some more very easy tutorial soon, including how to make barefoot sandals!
